The collection consists of 17 boxes of materials from Richmond’s history, dating from 1880 to 2009. It is divided into five categories: Richmond Preservation Society Papers; Family and Oral Histories; Richmond and Cache Valley History; Newspaper Clippings; Ephemera and Oversize Items.

The Smithfield Oral History Project contains 37 interviews with residents of Smithfield, Utah. The majority of interviews were conducted by Lawrence Cantwell. William "Robert" Thornley had the items digitized, transcribed, and printed by the Clark and Gladys Thornley Foundation. Transcriptions made possible by a generous grant from the Utah Humanities Council/ Utah State History.

Chiefly articles, correspondence, notes, and publications used in the compilation of his book, the National Education Association: a power base for education, concerning equality, desegregation of teachers' associations in South, political action for teachers' rights, the MEA-AFT merger attempt, and the history of the NEA. Also includes drafts and a copy of the book, writings and speeches by West, and personal artifacts such as plaques, certificates and diplomas.

This collection contains Charles G. Woods' personal and political papers. The collection as a whole offers the researcher a view of rural life in Cache Valley, Utah, as well as a glimpse into college life (both in Salt Lake and Massachusetts) from the late 1800s as well as the state legislature in the 1920s.
